Project Scope
Economic Action Maryland (formerly the Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition) is a leading force for economic justice. They are a non-profit whose mission is to provide economic inclusion and financial justice through research, advocacy, consumer education, and direct service to all Marylanders. Economic Action Maryland went through a rebranding along with their name change. In the rebranding process, Drio was brought on board to create a user-friendly website geared towards the different programs created for Marylanders as they pertain to economic rights.
Challenges and Solutions
Our client wanted to update their website to match their new logo and branding, but also needed to be a hib where people who needed answers could find them quickly. We worked with the team at Economic Action Maryland to create a "Get Help" area where resources can be found for housing, medical debt, student rights and more. Along with functionality, their new website had to be accessible to all Marylanders by following the WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility considerations.

Summary
We made it easy for visitors to find the information they are looking for by organizing the content logically and using descriptive labels for navigation links.
We strategically placed clear and compelling calls-to-action throughout the website. CTAs prompt users to take specific actions, such as signing up for a newsletter, making a donation to support their work, or contacting them.
We incorporated alt tags for images, used proper heading structure, and ensured a good color contrast ratio to ensure the site is WCAG 2.1 AA compliant.
The site's architecture flows with the user's experience in mind, allowing the user to learn about their programs, how to get help and how to take action.
