CareerBound, an initiative by Baltimore’s Promise, sought a website that was both clean and functional—a digital tool to effectively communicate its mission and engage its diverse audience. The resulting website serves as a comprehensive platform, detailing CareerBound's five core elements: In-School Youth Apprenticeships, Grads2Careers, Stackable Credentials, Academic Acceleration, and Youth Well-Being. Each section is thoughtfully designed to provide clear information and easy navigation, ensuring that students, educators, and partners can access the resources they need. The site's responsive design and intuitive layout reflect CareerBound's commitment to accessibility and user engagement, making it a vital resource in their goal to serve over 8,000 youth by 2030.
Challenges and Solutions
CareerBound needed more than just a modern website. They needed a dynamic tool to support a bold mission: serving over 8,000 Baltimore youth by 2030. The challenge was designing a site that could speak to multiple audiences including students, educators, employers, and funders while staying streamlined, accessible, and deeply aligned with Baltimore’s Promise branding.
We approached this by building a clear and flexible site structure that highlights CareerBound’s five core initiatives without overwhelming the user. We prioritized clean navigation, accessible content design, and a responsive layout that works seamlessly across devices. We also built in scalability, allowing space for future features like youth and employer portals. The final result is a website that feels simple on the surface but works hard behind the scenes, functioning as both a brand centerpiece and a practical resource for every audience CareerBound serves.
