Drio partnered with BUILD to redesign and develop a new home on the web that more clearly reflects the organization’s current vision, mission, and impact across Baltimore.

As a nonprofit rooted in community organizing, leadership development, and relationship building, BUILD needed a website that could showcase both the depth of its work and the real-world change happening through its campaigns. The focus was on creating a clear, compelling, and accessible digital presence that highlights BUILD’s role as a grassroots power organization working to improve metropolitan Baltimore.

The final site was designed to elevate BUILD’s campaigns, signature accomplishments, community partnerships, and leadership development work while making it easier for visitors to understand who BUILD is, how they organize, and how to get involved.

A key challenge was organizing a wide range of information in a way that felt clear, purposeful, and easy to navigate. BUILD’s work spans campaigns, neighborhood organizing, leadership development, relationship building, news, history, and community wins, so we focused on creating a streamlined structure that helps visitors quickly understand the organization’s impact and find the content most relevant to them.

We also needed to balance education with action. The website had to explain BUILD’s mission and organizing model while also encouraging users to engage, donate, read about campaigns, or learn more about BUILD’s accomplishments. We addressed this through thoughtful calls to action, clear page hierarchy, and content-driven layouts that guide users through BUILD’s story without overwhelming them.

Another important priority was creating a website that BUILD could continue to maintain internally. By developing the site in WordPress and providing training videos, Drio helped ensure the BUILD team would be equipped to make content updates, add new campaign information, and keep the site current as their work evolves.

Finally, the site needed to reflect the energy and humanity behind BUILD’s work. Through strong visuals, campaign-focused content, testimonials, and success stories, the site highlights the people, partnerships, and community leadership at the heart of BUILD’s mission.

The BUILD website redesign created a stronger digital foundation for an organization deeply committed to building power and driving meaningful change in Baltimore.

Through a thoughtful balance of strategy, storytelling, design, and usability, the new website highlights BUILD’s campaigns, accomplishments, and community-centered approach to leadership development, neighborhood organizing, and relationship building. Built on WordPress, the site also gives BUILD’s team the flexibility to grow, evolve, and make their own updates over time, supported by Drio's customized training videos.

The result is a clear, engaging, and mission-aligned website that helps visitors understand BUILD’s impact, provides an accessible pathway for people and institutions to get involved, and gives the organization a sustainable platform for sharing its work well into the future.
