Project Scope

Our long-time client, Electrical Alliance, is a prominent voice in the local electrical industry. They help everyone involved in the trade by supporting IBEW Local 26 member contractors, apprentices, future apprentices, working electricians, and those who hire contractors.

Our job was to provide a new and improved digital headquarters that matched their impact. We mapped out a smoother website architecture, provided copywriting, redesigned each page, and built the site with a strong, functional foundation.

We also incorporated more videos throughout the site to make it immersive and interactive. This allows visitors to quickly learn how the Electrical Alliance can help them while getting to know some of the people behind the organization.

Challenges and Solutions

Our client wanted to update their website to better serve their diverse audiences, ensuring they could quickly find information and answers. They needed the site to function as a central hub.

We focused heavily on organizing the "Start the Career" page to effectively showcase their three tracks. Our goal was to clearly differentiate these tracks and describe the unique opportunities each one offers. We also included stories from students and graduates. We created individual landing pages for each track, highlighting why you should choose that track, what to expect, career opportunities, how to apply, and apprentice stories. Each landing page also features an "apply" button to capture potential applicants instantly.

Summary

The new website's architecture prioritizes user experience, making it easy for visitors to learn how to start their career, find a contractor, and become a contractor. By incorporating imagery of actual members and their stories, captured as both testimonials and video narratives, we brought their stories to life.

We simplified navigation by logically organizing content and incorporating a mega menu to accommodate numerous links and categories, making it easier for users to find what they're looking for.

Strategically placed, clear, and compelling calls-to-action (CTAs) prompt users to take specific actions, such as starting their career, becoming a member, or searching for a contractor. Additionally, we adhered to best practices by adding alt tags for images, using proper heading structure, and ensuring a good color contrast ratio, ensuring the site is WCAG 2.1 AA compliant.
